Grounding Basics

Grounding

Electricity naturally flows to the earth, or to ground, through anything that will conduct electrical current. Pwedeng dumaan ang kuryente sa katawan ng tao na minsan nagdudulot ng fatal results, trying to make a path to the ground.

But if high voltage has gotten in contact with the case, there may be a shock hazard. In the absence of the ground wire, shock hazard conditions will often not cause the breaker to trip unless the circuit has a ground fault interrupter in it.

Part of the role of the ground wire is to force the breaker to trip by supplying a path to ground if a "hot" wire comes in contact with the metal case of the appliance.

Sa upper part ng diagram, makikita mo ang 3-wire system. Ang ground wire ay coded with "GREEN COLOR". In the event na magkaroon ng electrical fault, at TUMAAS MASYADO ang boltahe, kailangan magtrip agad ng circuit breaker para maputol ang linya.

kung saan pwede makadaloy ang kuryente.


Meron tong mga button pasa sa TEST at RESET. GFCIs monitor electric current and can switch a circuit off before injury occurs. Alam nyo din ba, na karamihan ngayon sa mga electric hair dryers are equipped with GFCI on their plugs?? Well, dapat lang din di ba?
